Maricopa County Jail System

Location: Maricopa County, Arizona

MTI provided preconstruction services for multiple Maricopa County Jail redevelopment projects, including one of the largest security system retrofit projects in the nation, which included 9 facilities and over 3 million sf of the most technologically advanced systems available. MTI provided project budget and scheduling services for 17 security locations in existing Maricopa County jail, which included new access control system including relays, access control panels, security doors and intercom stations to allow ingress and egress in an existing facility. Finally, MTI provided cost estimating, logistics planning for the demolition of First Avenue Jail.

The project involved shoring of existing roadways, relocating major infrastructure/utilities, establishing temporary controls and temporary modifications for ingress and egress at the existing courts during construction, and adding a new plaza with water features, benches, decorative concrete, kiosks and public art.
